Why Can’t Tenants See Inspections or Use Their Invite Code in RentCheck?

RentCheck resident users sometimes encounter issues with inspections and invite codes, which can lead to confusion. This article addresses these two common concerns by explaining why these scenarios occur and how to resolve them efficiently.

Understanding Inspection Assignments

In RentCheck, residents can only see inspections that are specifically assigned to them and accepted via the invitation process. If a property manager or staff member has created and completed an inspection, it will not be visible to the resident unless it is shared for review. Furthermore, the invite code becomes unnecessary in these cases. To ensure that a resident can view or complete an inspection, the property manager must assign the inspection and ensure that the resident accepts the invitation associated with it. Once accepted, residents will then need to complete the inspection in the mobile app before it becomes accessible on the property manager's end.

Additionally, inspections may not appear if they have already been completed by the property manager or if they have not yet been activated. Completed inspections, such as move-in inspections handled directly by the property manager, will not be visible to residents. Similarly, inspections only become visible after they are scheduled and activated by the property manager. If the invite date has not yet arrived, the inspection will not appear in the app until the scheduled date.

Steps to Ensure Inspection Visibility:

  1. Verify if the inspection was assigned to the resident within the RentCheck app.

  2. Verify if the inspection invite date has passed and wait until the scheduled date if necessary.

  3. If not, coordinate with the property manager to have the inspection reassigned.

  4. Complete the assigned inspection to ensure it becomes visible in the app.

Invite Code Issues

An invite code may appear invalid for several reasons:

  • If the resident has already accepted the inspection request in the RentCheck app, the invite code is no longer required. At this point, tenants can access the inspection directly from their assigned tasks in the app.

  • If the assigned inspection is not appearing, residents should use the direct inspection link provided by their property manager or the link included in the invite message.

Steps to Resolve Invite Code Problems:

  1. Open the RentCheck app and review the assigned task list for the inspection.

  2. If the inspection is not listed, check the invite email or message for a direct link to the inspection.

  3. Contact the property manager if neither option resolves the issue.

Summary

Residents can only view and complete inspections assigned specifically to them. To prevent issues with invite codes or inspection visibility, property managers must appropriately assign inspections, and residents should follow app or direct link access procedures as needed. For further troubleshooting, contact your property manager or refer to RentCheck's support documentation.

Additionally, inspections may not appear if they have already been completed by the property manager or if they have not yet been activated. Residents should confirm the inspection status with their property manager and verify the invite date to ensure timely access.
