Reviewing Resident Room Updates

Learn how to access and use the Unit Edits tool to review room updates made by residents during their inspection, including added rooms and rooms marked as Not Applicable.

Understanding Unit Edits in an Inspection

The Unit Edits tool allows you to review room updates a resident made during their inspection. This helps keep your unit configuration accurate and ensures consistent future inspections.


What Are Unit Edits?

Residents may update the list of rooms while completing their inspection by:

  • Adding a new room or area

  • Marking an existing room or area as Not Applicable

These updates will not automatically change the unit. Instead, you can review and confirm them before they are applied.

Note: Residents cannot remove rooms. They can only add rooms or mark existing rooms as Not Applicable if the room does not exist in their unit.


How to Access Unit Edits

You can access Unit Edits directly from the inspection page.

  1. Open the inspection.

  2. Select the Unit Edits icon (checklist icon).

You’ll find the icon at the top of the inspection page:

Tip: The Unit Updates modal does not open automatically. You must click the Unit Edits icon to view and confirm any changes.


Reviewing Room Updates

Once you click the Unit Edits icon, a Unit Updates modal will appear.


This modal displays the rooms the resident interacted with:

Area/Room

This column displays each room or area that requires review.

  • Checked → Keep this room as part of the unit for future inspections.

  • Unchecked → Remove this room from the unit.

Inspection Edits

This column indicates how the resident updated each room.

  • Not Applicable means the resident indicated that this room does not exist in their unit.

Review these updates to confirm what should remain part of the unit template.


Saving Your Changes

When you're done reviewing:

  1. Select or deselect rooms as needed.

  2. Click Update to save your changes.

Your selections will apply to all future inspections for this unit.
