Introducing The New Resident Dashboard

If you’ve been using RentCheck for a while, you’ll notice your dashboard looks a little different after updating to the latest version. Don’t worry - everything you need is still here. We’ve simply reorganized things to make it easier to find and complete your inspections.

Why the New Dashboard?

The new resident dashboard is designed to make the inspection process simpler and more intuitive. With the new layout, it is easier to:

  • See what needs attention: Inspections that are awaiting completion are clearly listed and easy to access.

  • Review past inspections: Completed inspections are now easier than ever to look back on.

  • Stay on top of requests: Any inspection-related requests (such as signature requests) appear front and center so you can’t miss them.

What Stays the Same?

  • All of your existing inspections and data remain intact.

  • Your property manager can still invite you to inspections using a code.

  • The inspection process itself is unchanged - we’ve just made it simpler to find and complete them.

Let’s walk through the Dashboard tab step by step.

Finding your way around the updated navigation bar

At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see an updated navigation bar with three main tabs: Dashboard, Units, and Profile. Each one is designed to keep everything you need just a tap away.

Your Dashboard tab is where you’ll find all of your inspections, including the most important action items, like current active inspections, takeover or signature requests. Here is where you will also see any completed inspections you may want to look back on.

Your Units tab is where all of your rental units are kept, whether current or past. From here you can add a new unit or manage details for an existing unit.

Your Profile tab holds everything related to your account. This is where you can update your email or password, manage notification settings, reach out for help, or log out of the app. If you ever need to check or adjust your personal information, this is where to go.

Dashboard Tab

Current Inspections

Under the header “Current Inspections”, the blue square is where you will find your current inspections. Tapping the green button will open the inspection so you can continue where you left off.

  • You’ll see up to three inspections listed side by side.

  • If you have more than three, swipe to the end of the list and click ‘More Inspections’ to open a complete list of your open inspections.

    • Open inspections are inspections that have been sent to you but not started, inspections you have started, any review requests or any revision requests sent by your property manager.

  • Inspections are shown in order of urgency. For example, overdue inspections appear first, followed by ones due soon, and then those further out. This way, the most time-sensitive inspections are always right in front of you.

  • Percentage of Inspection Completed - You will find this at the top-right corner of the card displayed inside a green bubble. This chip shows how much of the inspection has been completed for that current inspection. When the chip reaches 100% and turns green, it indicates that your inspection has been completed and is ready to be submitted, click on the inspection and click 'Submit' to begin the upload.

  • Due Date Of the Inspection - You will find this at the top left corner of the card displayed inside a white bubble. This chip displays how many days until your inspection is due or how many days it is overdue. Don't worry, you will still have access to your inspection past its due date!

✅ Completed Inspections

Beneath your current inspections, you’ll find a section labeled “Completed Inspections.”

  • This section uses the same card layout as current inspections but only includes inspections that are uploaded and do not require action at this time.

  • Each completed inspection shows its completion date, making it easy to look back on past data when needed.

  • Inspections are listed in order of completion, with the most recently completed inspection appearing first.

Takeover & Signature Requests

At the very top of your dashboard, you’ll see any pending requests that need your attention. These will either be:

  • Takeover requests – If another resident is taking over an inspection you started, you’ll see a request here. Clicking Accept Takeover Request will upload your existing inspection data so the next resident can continue where you left off.

  • Signature requests – If you’ve been asked to review and sign an inspection, you’ll see that request here. Clicking it will open the inspection for you to review. Once you’re ready, you can add your signature.

If you have any pending requests this section will always be at the top so you won’t miss anything important.
