I need help paying rent. Can RentCheck help?

RentCheck is a property inspection software intended to make renting fair and transparent for all. We do not currently process rent payments or other charges associated with renting. I would suggest reaching out to your property manager directly to confirm the best avenue for making payments!

I took pictures in my phone but the app won't let me upload them to the inspection from my camera roll. Do I need to retake all my pictures?

RentCheck inspections require residents to directly take all pictures inside the mobile app. This is done to maintain the integrity of the inspection. Unfortunately, if you are a resident that took pictures outside the RentCheck app, you will have to redo the inspection and take all required pictures inside the app. Please note that pictures taken inside the RentCheck app do not save into your camera gallery.

My PM can’t see my inspection but I completed it. Help!

If your PM can’t see your inspection, it is likely because of one of two reasons:

  1. Click into the inspection and check to see if your progress bar shows as 100%. If it does, it is likely the inspection has not been submitted. After completing all your pictures, make sure to press the "submit" button at the top right of your inspection so that it can be sent for review. Once the inspection has been successfully submitted, the status will be changed to "Awaiting review."

  2. Alternatively, If you submitted the inspection but your property manager still does not see it, make sure you have submitted an inspection your property manager requested, not an inspection you created on your own. Property managers will only be able to see inspections that you completed via an initial invite code. If this is the case, please speak with our support team to transfer your self-created inspection to your property manager's profile.

I'm trying to have my roommate takeover the inspection but I can't accept the takeover request. What do I do?

Please make sure you are approving all takeover requests via a mobile device. If you are logged into your email on a computer and get an error approving a takeover request, switch to your phone and give it another try. If this doesn't work, contact our support team via chat to complete the transfer request on your behalf.

Why am I receiving another RentCheck inspection?

We understand that completing RentCheck inspection are a time commitment. We don't take your time for granted! However, if you would like to discuss the frequency of RentCheck inspections, please contact your property manager directly. They will be best to advise on why and how often they need the inspections they are requesting.

I'm being asked to take a picture of a label on an appliance that is hard to read or illegible. What do I do?

Please go ahead and still take a picture of the label. In the text box that appears that reads "Enter here", make a note that the label is illegible.

I'm being asked to take a picture of a label on an appliance and I can't find it. What do I do?

Finding appliance labels can be tricky, we understand! That's why we set examples inside the inspection as a reference. When you open into the camera to take a picture of an appliance label, select "See example" near the bottom right of your camera pane. This will pull up a reference photo of where the appliance label usually lives. The OCR technology automatically reads and inputs the model and serial number, so you want to make sure the camera is focused and that you can clearly see all of the text. If

I took the picture of the appliance label but it didn't read everything. What do I do?

No worries! You can select the bar code icon for the field that was not transcribed. You will be prompted to take another, closer picture of the data that was missing. Make sure that it is aligned in the camera box and that it's clear. From here, you'll be asked to scroll through a list of all the text that was recognized from this new image. Select the serial number. For the purposes of keeping the data clean, we advise you to remove any extra texted that was picked up. For example, it's recommended to change the text "SERIAL NO: 12345" to simple "12345", removing "SERIAL NO:."

I don't feel comfortable downloading apps to my phone. Is there a website I can use to complete my inspection?

All RentCheck inspections must be completed via the mobile app. There is no web app available for residents to complete their inspection. If you do not feel comfortable downloading apps to your phone, contact your property manager to discuss alternatives to completing your inspection.

I need a maintenance issue I reported fixed. Can you help me get it fixed?

RentCheck does not process maintenance requests. If you are completing an inspection and notice an items that needs repair, leave a "Poor" or "Fair" rating and any notes associated with the condition of the item. We recommend reaching out to your property manager or maintenance hotline directly to process/fulfill any maintenance issues.
