Do Residents Need to Pay or Enter Credit Card Information to Complete an Inspection?

No. Residents never need to pay or enter credit card information to complete a RentCheck inspection.

RentCheck inspections are free for residents. A resident can complete an inspection without providing any payment details at any point.

How Residents Should Sign Up

Residents should always sign up for RentCheck using the RentCheck mobile app. This ensures they are correctly set up as a resident and can complete their inspection without issues.

Important Note About Website Signups

If a resident creates an account through the RentCheck website instead of the mobile app, they will be signed up as a property manager and placed into a 14-day trial. This is not the correct account type for residents and may cause confusion. To avoid this, residents should always use the mobile app to access RentCheck.

Why Am I Asked for Payment Information in the App Store?

In some cases, Google Play or Apple’s App Store may require a payment method to be on file in order to download apps, even free ones. This requirement is set by the app stores themselves, not by RentCheck.

RentCheck does not charge residents and does not require residents to enter payment or credit card information to complete an inspection.

If you are prompted to add a payment method while downloading the app, this is an app store requirement and not related to RentCheck.

Need Help?

If you are a resident who accidentally signed up through the RentCheck website and created a trial property manager account, please contact our Support team via chat support or by emailing support@getrentcheck.com to cancel the trial.
