If you’re a property manager, you can add or update images in a completed inspection directly through your RentCheck account. This can be useful if you need to include additional documentation or correct an image after the inspection has been submitted.

Note: Residents do not have access to edit or add photos to completed inspections. Only property managers can make these updates.

Steps to Add or Edit Images in a Completed Inspection

  1. Log in to your RentCheck account.
Open the RentCheck web app and sign in with your property manager credentials.

  2. Open the Inspections tab.
After logging in, click on the Inspections tab located in the top right corner of the page to view all inspections associated with your account.

  3. Select the completed inspection you want to edit.
Find the inspection you would like to update from your list of completed inspections and click on it to open:

  4. Choose the section to update.
Within the inspection report, scroll through the list of sections such as Kitchen, Living Room, or Front Door:

Click the section name to open it. This will display the existing photos, notes, and condition details. From here, you can make updates to any individual area that needs revision:

  5. Edit the section.
Click Edit, then select Edit Images to open the photo management screen:

If this is your first time editing an inspection, you will see a Feature Editing pop-up explaining that you can update ratings, answers, and images on a completed inspection. Select Edit Feature to continue:

  6. Add or replace images.
Click Edit Image to upload a new photo from your computer or mobile device. You can also remove or replace existing images if needed:

  7. Save your changes.
When you are finished, click Save Edits to confirm your updates. The new photos will automatically appear in the inspection report once saved:

Important Details

  • Features marked as N/A during an inspection cannot be edited once the inspection has been submitted.

  • Resident-led inspections or inspections performed by a third-party cannot be edited from the desktop version once completed. For these inspections, revisions should be requested so that desired updates can be made.

  • Inspection edits will also be added to the inspection PDF report at the end and will include the date an inspection was edited, the number of features edited, and the name of the user who made the edits. In addition, any additional inspection signatures requested and obtained before edits were made will be removed from the report and will need to be requested again.
