RentCheck inspections already sync to tenant and property pages in AppFolio, but now you can sync RentCheck inspections directly to Inspections in AppFolio in real time, so everything lives in one place, right where your team already works.
Once your sync is activated, from the moment an inspection is created in RentCheck, it appears in AppFolio with a live status that updates automatically throughout the entire lifecycle.
Choosing your sync destination
There's a new setting in your AppFolio Data Sync Settings that lets you choose where inspections are sent. You can select one or more destinations:
• Inspections Tab (new!): syncs all inspections to AppFolio's native inspections tab as soon as they’re created.
• Property: attaches reports to the property record upon completion
• Resident / Lease: attaches reports to the resident or lease record upon completion
Head to Settings → Integrations → AppFolio → Data Sync Settings to update your destination selection. Select the destination(s) in AppFolio you want the inspections synced to from the options listed under Inspection Sync:
Note: If selecting "Sync inspections directly with AppFolio" for the first time you will have the ability to backfill previously synced inspections using the modal that will appear.
How the sync works
As soon as an inspection is created in RentCheck, it's created in AppFolio with a status of New. From there, every status change in RentCheck is reflected in AppFolio.

Direct link back to RentCheck
Each inspection in AppFolio includes a link straight back to the inspection in RentCheck, so you can easily check any other inspection details that you need.
Deleting an inspection
If you delete an inspection in RentCheck, the inspection will also be deleted from the AppFolio inspections tab.
One-way sync
Changes made in AppFolio, or inspections created in AppFolio, won't sync back to RentCheck; it's one-directional. However, most updates made in RentCheck, including edits, status changes, and date changes, are reflected in AppFolio automatically.
PDF report upload
Once an inspection is complete and a PDF is generated, it's uploaded to the inspection record in AppFolio on the twice-daily sync. You can also trigger this immediately using the manual sync button.
Note: We also made an update recently that means you can now manually sync inspections more than once! This means if you push through a manual sync and then need to make changes to the inspection, you can go ahead and manually sync those changes too, once you are done.
