Let’s take a look at how to pull your Unit Directory and Resident Directory files from AppFolio for uploading to RentCheck.
Creating the Unit Report
1) Navigate to AppFolio's Reports page, then find the Unit Directory report listed under Property and Unit Reports.
2) Customize the report to match RentCheck's integration requirements. If the report does not match the below, the sync will be disrupted and fail to upload. Move through Filters, Columns, and Grouping following the below instructions. Once complete, select Update.
Filters: For the Units field, select "Show Active Units"
Columns: All below items must be selected to properly customize the report.
Bedrooms | Unit Street Address 2 | Unit Zip |
Bathrooms | Unit City | Unit Type |
Unit Street Address 1 | Unit State | Unit ID |
Note: If the Unit ID is not an available option, disregard this field. It is not a required field for the initial unit upload.
Grouping: Select "Do not group rows"
3) Once the report is created, select "Actions" at the top of the screen, then select "Export as CSV". Now, you are ready to upload your units to your RentCheck account.
Creating the Resident Directory
1) Navigate to AppFolio's Reports page, then find the Tenant Directory report listed under Tenant Reports.
2) Next, let's build the custom report. It is required to build the report exactly as listed below to be sure that data is synced accurately.
3) Once the report is created, select "Actions" at the top of the screen, then select "Export as CSV".
