Asset capture enables RentCheck customers to utilize OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to scan product labels and convert them into text during inspections. This powerful tool helps users to efficiently capture manufacturing data labels. Please note that asset capture is currently available only on custom templates for users on the Professional Plan.
To set up an asset capture question:
Create a Custom Template.
Create a Feature (e.g. Microwave) and Add a Question.
Select the Question Type as Asset Capture.
Choose an Asset Capture Type:
Serial Number
Model Number
Other
Select an Asset Category:
Asset categories allows users to categorize assets in the template while setting up asset capture questions. Adding this field on the templates can allow users to pull this data point directly via API into their system. The available options include:
