Auto-Approval
The Auto-Approval setting is designed to help your team move faster by eliminating unnecessary review steps for internal inspections that are sent to tenants for review .
What is Auto-Approval?
When enabled, inspections that are shared for review (In-review status), and sent for signature without any edits, notes, or changes will be automatically marked as "Approved" once the recipient signs and the inspection is uploaded. This removes the need for manual approval and keeps your workflow moving efficiently.
Please note that the user who sends the review request is the signature that will be added to the inspection when it is approved.
Why Use Auto-Approval?
Auto-Approval is ideal for teams that:
Want to streamline their process for internally completed inspections shared with tenants for review.
Aim to save time and reduce manual steps
By reducing touchpoints, your team can focus on higher-value tasks while maintaining confidence in the inspection process.

Two-Step Inspection Review
Two-Step Inspection Review lets your team add an extra layer of quality control before inspections are approved. When enabled, inspections using selected templates must first go through an initial review before final approval.
How to Enable It
Go to Accounts → Inspection Workflow Settings
Locate the "Two-Step inspection review" setting
Toggle the switch to ON
Select the templates you want to apply this workflow to:
By default, all templates are selected
You can customize which custom or RentCheck default inspection templates require a two-step review
Click the Save button
How Two-Step Review Works
When Two-Step Review is enabled for a template, and the inspection is in “Awaiting Review” or “Revision Review”, it goes through the two steps below:
Initial Review: The first step allows inspectors to review all items and make necessary adjustments. You'll see an “Initial Review” button (replaces Approve).
Secondary Review: After the initial review is complete, the “Approve” button will appear to finalize the inspection review and move it to the “Approved” status.
Note: When the inspection is in the secondary review, a new option in the “Manage” dropdown called “Revert to Initial Review” will be available to move back to the initial review step.
