  1. Can I still use pinch to zoom?

Yes! You can pinch to zoom in and out on any device, the maximum zoom level for pinch to zoom is 10x and this zoom level will be represented in the zoom icon button at the top of the screen. The different pre-set zoom levels are device specific and are set to try and match the optical zoom points available on each device.

  2. Do I need to manually close the instructions panel each time?

No! The instructions panel closes automatically after you take the first photo, giving you even more screen real estate to view the photo you are taking than before.

  3. Why is the instructions panel more prominent than before?

As strong advocates for resident-led inspections, we want to make sure that residents have a clear understanding of what exactly they need to do as they are completing an inspection. We designed the instructions panel to collapse automatically for experienced property managers who need less guidance!

  4. Can I use RentCheck offline?

You can capture inspection media, ratings, and notes and flag items on inspections that have already been loaded when you are without wifi or in an area with poor cellular service. You cannot create new inspections when you are offline. However, if necessary, you can always take photos and upload them to any internally-assigned inspection once you have a good connection.

Pro tip: Load the inspections screen heading out into the field to make sure you can easily access your inspections!

  5. Is wide angle image capture available?

Yes! Devices that have a wide angle lens can capture wide angle photos on the RentCheck mobile app by pinching to zoom out or by tapping to set the level on the zoom button. This is available for Android and iOS and depends on the device’s firmware.
