Automate Recurring Inspections

Keep Inspections Running on a Repeating Schedule

Written by Rishi Jain

Keeping up with routine inspections across all your properties can get overwhelming fast. With the new Repeat feature in Automation, you can set up inspections that repeat on a schedule so nothing slips through the cracks.

Instead of manually creating inspections every month, quarter, or year, you can set it once and let RentCheck handle the rest. No rebuilding, no manual scheduling, no gaps in your inspection cycle.

What Is Automation Repeat?

Automation Repeat is an additional setting for your existing inspection automations. Instead of an automation running once around a lease event and stopping, you can now set it to run again at a regular interval for as long as the automation is active.

Think of it like a recurring calendar event for your inspections. Set it once, and RentCheck keeps generating inspections on your chosen schedule.

Common use cases for property managers:

  • Periodic full-unit inspections and mid-lease check-ins

  • Air filter change inspections every 90 days

  • Seasonal checks (safety checks, HOA exterior readiness checks, etc.)

  • Renewal-ready inspections timed weeks before lease end

How Repeat Works With Your Existing Automations

Repeat builds on your existing automation setup. You still configure all the same settings (property selection, inspection template, assignee, creation date, and due date) and simply turn repeat on top of it.

Once enabled, the first inspection follows your existing creation rules. Every inspection after that is spaced out by your chosen repeat interval, counting from that first inspection, and continues doing so until you turn it off.

You can turn the repeat on or off at any time. Turning it off stops future inspections from being created, but does not affect inspections already created.

Note:

  • Each automation has its own repeat settings. You can have one automation repeat monthly and another repeat quarterly.

  • Repeat option is only available if the creation trigger is the move-in date or the lease start date.

Setting Up repeat

  1. Go to Account > Inspection Automation.

  2. Open an existing automation or create a new one.

  3. Scroll to the “Will this inspection repeat?” section within the automation settings.

  4. Choose your repeat interval (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, or custom).

  5. Choose when the repeat should end. You can set it as the lease end or the move-out date.

  6. Save your changes.

RentCheck will handle the rest.
