The RentCheck mobile app offers valuable offline capabilities, ensuring you can conduct inspections in areas with poor or no cellular service. This article will guide you on how to effectively manage inspections offline.

Preparing for Offline Inspections

Before heading to a unit where cellular/internet service may be limited, it's essential to prepare:

  • Refresh Your Inspections List: Open the RentCheck mobile app and swipe down on the Inspections list to refresh it. This ensures you have the latest inspections downloaded you need before you go offline.

  • Keep Your App Updated: Regularly updating your RentCheck app to the latest version helps ensure optimal performance.

Conducting Inspections Offline

You can conduct inspections without an internet connection. Here’s a few key points to keep in mind:

  • Complete Inspections: All the necessary sections and questions of the inspections will be available for you to complete while offline, including the ability to take pictures and access pictures from your camera roll.

  • Local Storage: Any inspections you complete offline are stored locally on your device until you are able to submit them.

Finalizing Inspections Online

We recommend you finish submitting your completed inspection once you regain service. Here’s a few key points to keep in mind:

  1. Submission Process: Once you’re in an area with service, open the RentCheck app to the inspection you conducted offline and tap Submit. Images, ratings, and notes will begin uploading to the Cloud and to your RentCheck account during this time.

  2. Maintenance Flagging: Flagging items for maintenance is not available offline. We recommend going back into the inspection and creating maintenance flags once you have a stronger connection. Maintenance flags can also be created after the inspection has been successfully submitted and completed.

Tips for a Smooth Offline Experience:

  • Plan Ahead: If you anticipate being in areas with unreliable service, try to load the inspection you will need ahead of time. Additionally, make sure you’ve created all the inspections you will need before heading to a low-service field.

  • Keep the App Updated: Ensure you have the latest version of the app to minimize issues related to offline capabilities.

  • Finish What You Started: Once you have regained service, we recommend going back into the inspection and creating any maintenance flags or work orders.

  • Be Patient: It may take a few minutes for everything to be successfully uploaded. You may navigate outside of the inspection to other inspections, but you should keep the RentCheck app open in the background until the upload has finished and the inspection has been successfully submitted.

By following these guidelines, you can confidently conduct inspections without worrying about service interruptions. For further assistance or questions, feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team via live chat.
