We've redesigned RentCheck's navigation to make it easier to find and use everything the platform offers. Here's what's changing and how to get around.
What's New
Navigation now lives in a sidebar on the left side of your screen, visible from anywhere in RentCheck. No more hunting through a top header dropdown; everything you need is just one click away.
Nothing you rely on has been removed. It's simply been reorganized to be easier to find.
The Sidebar at a Glance
The sidebar has three parts:
1. Main Navigation
Your five core sections, always visible at the top:
Section | What's There |
Dashboard | Overview of activity across your portfolio |
Inspections | Create, schedule, review, and compare inspections |
Properties | Your units, buildings, and communities |
Maintenance | Maintenance reports and work orders |
Residents | Tenant records and lease information |
2. Settings
Click the gear icon to open a flyout panel with all your account configuration, grouped into four categories:
People & Access
Teams – Organize your portfolio into groups so you can assign inspections and control data access.
Teammates – Invite and manage the people who have access to your RentCheck account.
Permission Groups – Define exactly what each teammate can view, create, edit, or approve across RentCheck.
Inspections
Templates – Build and manage the inspection templates used across your property inspections.
Inspection Automation – Set rules to automatically schedule inspections based on lease events like move-ins and move-outs.
Report Settings – Customize what appears on the PDF report generated after an inspection is completed.
Review and Approval – Configure whether completed inspections require a manager review or sign-off before being finalized.
Signature Acknowledgement – Customize the message residents see when asked to acknowledge or sign an inspection.
Email Messaging – Customize the emails RentCheck sends out at each stage of the inspection lifecycle.
Contact Information – Set the contact details displayed to residents in inspection-related communications.
Properties & Maintenance
Property Configuration – Define the rooms and areas that you can configure on your units, buildings, and inspection templates.
Maintenance Settings – Allow resident-reported maintenance for resident inspections and configure other maintenance flag settings.
Data & Integrations
Integrations – Connect RentCheck to your property management software to automatically sync properties, units, residents, inspection reports, and work orders.
Imports – Manually upload property and resident data via CSV when you don't have a direct integration set up.
3. Account
Click your avatar bubble for your personal settings:

Note: Toggle the sidebar between expanded and collapsed anytime; your preference is saved automatically so it's just how you left it next time you log in.
Nothing Changes About What You Can Do
This update is about organization, not removal. Every workflow you already use is still here. Organizational setup lives in Settings, your personal details live in Account, and your most-used pages are still one click away in the main navigation.
